Speak of adjectives, there are two definitions of this word:
♦ a word that expresses an attribute of something
♦ the word class that qualifies nouns
Let’s talk about the first definition now, ‘a word that expresses an attribute of something’.
Here, this definition doesn’t say like this ‘a word that TRULY expresses an attribute of something’ which means adjectives can be properly used and improperly used too.
When it is properly used in advertising, it means a promise. It promises targeted customers of the right property of the product.
When it is improperly used in advertising, it means cheating and deceiving words. Just like proper powder can make a lady more glamourous and charming in a banquet or event party, while women with improper and exaggerate make-up will seem low and indecent.
For example, when I promote our polyester resin sizing agent, my first version is like this:
A white, granular, water soluble synthetic sizing resin used on filament and spun polyester, acetate and rayon yarns. T5 and TD5 produces a film which penetrates and coats the yarn and protects the yarn during weaving without dusting or gumming.
My last version with proper adj is like this:
A white, granular, water soluble synthetic sizing resin used on filament and spun polyester, acetate and rayon yarns. T5 and TD5 produces a very tough, flexible film which penetrates and coats the yarn and protects the yarn during weaving without dusting or gumming. Exhibits superior abrasion resistance and excellent loom performance. Easily desizing property make it more eco-friendly.
Do you feel that our polyester sizing agent in my last version is shining and glamouring?
